Gastric Sleeve
The Gastric Sleeve is a minimally invasive (laparoscopic) bariatric surgery that reduces the size of the stomach, causing a feeling of fullness, which translates into a lower capacity for caloric intake and thus promotes rapid and effective weight loss, with permanent results in the vast majority of patients.
This surgery is recommended for obese individuals with a BMI greater than 40 and also for patients with a BMI of 30 to 40 with obesity-related risk factors, who have tried to lose weight through traditional methods and even through other non-surgical procedures, such as the gastric balloon, without success.
It is a very gentle procedure that allows for quick recovery with minimal scars, with only 1 to 2 days of required hospitalization, and patients can resume their normal life within 2 to 3 weeks after surgery. From the moment after the intervention, significant weight reduction begins.
